Engineering Students will Require to Complete 3 Internships

The new action plan of the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) focuses on how every engineering student will have to complete three internships. Each internship will be somewhere near
4-8 weeks and must be taken up before the student finishes their undergraduate course.

The AICTE has also taken a new step to fix the problem of finding the students these internships
at various industries and organizations, through the respective institutions. The announcement
came from the Union Minister of State of Human Resource development (HRD) Mahendra Pandey
in the Lok Sabha.

Engineering Students will Require to Complete 3 Internships Pandey said that the AICTE will be
working with each state for the assessment for demand and supply situation which is projected for
the next 10 years. This will be a guiding document, which will be used for approving the new
institutions by AICTE.

The regulatory body also mentioned that every student on the admissions will have to go through a mandatory induction training to focus on the basic ideas and the language skills that are
required for the technical education.

The Students will also getting the Leadership Training to enhance their skills once in every two years.

The Changes in Curriculum for Students 

 AICTE also pushed forth for the revision of the curriculum of the technical education every year.
Mr. Pandey said that every affiliated technical university must have a subject-wise industry consultation
 committee with the focus on examining the existing curriculum and for making alterations every year.
The process will be concluded in December every year.

 The minister also said that all the students who will be passing from the undergraduate courses
will be receiving technical and soft skills which is very much required in the industry.  This is done so
that the students will have enough knowledge related to leadership, management, communication,
 team work etc.
